I have not designated any device as a priority (I somehow had a priority device selected several months ago that I could not unselect, so Google had to deselect it for things to work again, but that was months ago). I plug the fiber modem back into the Nest ROUTER and it reads the lowest of the month: 55/120. I contacted my fiber company: plugged their modem connection (that had gone to the Nest Router) directly to my laptop. ![]() ![]() After working pretty well the past 6 months (300 download and synchronous 300 upload, December first my download speeds have plummeted to something between 50 and 120, while my upload speeds vary from 180 to 290 (more frequently around the 290 mark). BUT THIS ISN'T THE CURRENT/MOST URGENT problem. Now I get a "weak" report for the basement POINT. I used to be able to read the speeds on each individual Router/Point, but Google forced us all to Google Home (from Google Wi-fi) and took that bit of info away from us. Spent hours/days on the phone with Google, put all 4 units together next to the fiber modem, redid the whole setup, and it worked. Still lousy service, so I bought a second Router and set it as a Point. So I bought another Point: so I have points in the far side of the basement, 1 on the second floor. Main floor, second floor and other side of basement are typically more than 20 feet away. Lousy coverage, probably because the Router is in the basement where all wiring comes into the house. Original setup was 1 Nest Router and 1 Point. Every room in the house has RJ45 jacks but we use wi-fi for phones, tablets and laptops. The router is then also connected to an unmanaged switch to provide hardwire service to the main TVs. I have a Nest Router that plugs directly into my fiber modem. ![]() If I plug my computer into the same att router port as the google wifi (move the nest off the port, then replace with my computer), the computer links up at a gig and the speeds look fine. I put in a ticket with ATT who said there should be nothing on their end throttling the traffic. Again, two different nest routers having the exact same issue. Im seriously considering returning the nest wifi but wanted to hear if anyone else had issues like this. During testing, they told me not to prioritize a device but thats the only way things work as they should. They then requested logs and are reviewing the files I sent them via the home app and will get back to me. I put in a ticket with google who requested I put the router in bypass mode and force DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, These changes made no difference. Wifi has been disabled on the ATT router and that router is now simply forwarding all traffic to the google nest. ![]() If I could prioritize all devices 24 hours a day, I would be happy with that workaroundĪTT ONT - ATT Router (bypass mode) - Google Wifi Im pretty sure the problem must be on the Google side since that change fixes the issue. The priority settings fixes both wired and wireless settings. Its like the nest is throttling every device in my network for some reason unless i say otherwise. I found out, however, that if I select a device as priority in google home, that device now works as I expect. I check today - same issue as before where all devices are getting great download speeds but capped at 100mbps upload. Everything looked perfect for a day - i was getting expected speeds for wired at 800mbps and wireless was around 300 - 400mbps up and down. Google advised a replacement so I did just that. Setup was a breeze and everything looked good until I noticed my upload speeds were capped at 100mbps on every device behind the nest. I have gigabit internet through att fiber and just bought a google nest wifi 2 pack a week ago. ![]() One of the best is Site Breach Alerts, something other services have since added as well. The safest (if craziest) way to store your passwords is to memorize them all. The problem is, most of us don’t know what makes a good password and aren’t able to remember hundreds of them anyway. The bottom line is that if you are a Prime user, the 2016 edition of the HD 8 is a great value - and an excellent option for kids who don't really need an expensive iPad. Naturally, Amazon hopes you'll buy its case ($35), which I like, but others are available from third-party resellers for less. I just want it to be durable, and it seems to be. And a larger battery delivers up to 12 hours of juice, up from 8 hours. While the 1.3GHz quad-core processor in the 2016 HD 8 is a new chip, Amazon says the real performance boost comes from a bump in RAM from 1GB to 1.5GB. That model came with only 8GB of storage while this new one includes 16GB, with an expansion slot for adding microSD memory cards up to 200GB in capacity. ![]() The previous generation Fire HD 8 started at $150 (£130 or AU$215). Both now start at 32GB capacities, but you could literally buy three or four Fire HD 8s for the price of once Mini. (It's not available in Australia so far, but the US price converts to about AU$115.) By comparison, the similarly sized Apple iPad Mini 4 costs $399, £379 or AU$569 and the Mini 2 costs $269, £239 or AU$369. Amazon's new Fire HD 8 looks a lot like last year's Fire HD 8, but there are a few key differences, the biggest of which is the new lower price tag. ![]() Also, be sure you use new whole wheat flour for this recipe – you’re not going to have lots of luck with 30 year old food storage wheat in this recipe. From top: braided challah, mocha honey loaf, sundried tomato and parmesan cheese bread, rosemary olive bread, flaxseed country loaves. ![]() I haven’t tried this recipe with red wheat flour, but I’m guessing it won’t work very well. Both kinds are whole wheat, the but hard white wheat flour will give you a softer, lighter loaf. Whole wheat flour is milled from either red wheat or hard white wheat. One last note – I used hard white wheat flour for this recipe, and I highly recommend it. So you do have to plan ahead to make this recipe, but in return it only takes about 5 minutes of work to get it ready to bake. That means you’ll start by mixing up the ingredients 12-24 hours before you want to bake the bread. You could probably get by with less, but don’t leave it out completely – use at least 1 tablespoon for a nice rise.Īs with the original artisan bread, this recipe uses a very long rise time instead of kneading. I used 3 tablespoons sugar for a nice flavor. And second, I think the wheat flour really benefits from a bit of sweetness. There are two reasons for the addition of sugar: first, wheat bread generally doesn’t rise as high as white bread, so adding in a small amount of sugar helps give the yeast a boost so you don’t end up with a hockey puck. The ingredients are very similar too we just use a bit more water in the wheat version because wheat flour absorbs more water than white flour, and I’ve added some brown sugar as well. If you’ve made the original artisan bread before, you’ll see that the method for this whole wheat version is almost exactly the same. However, if whole wheat bread is what you’re looking for, I can honestly say this is a very nice rustic loaf. It also rises a bit higher with larger air pockets. The white flour version is just a little tastier and a little lighter than the wheat flour version, IMO. I know that might make me a bad human being (I also prefer ice cream to vegetables, any and every day of the week), but that’s the way it is. When it comes to homemade bread, I always prefer the taste and texture of white flour. Now, in all honesty, can I say the whole wheat version is just as good as the original? No. The outside is crusty while the inside is chewy, and it’s really quite pretty.Īnd this version is, of course, made with 100% whole wheat flour, which is great for people trying to make the switch away from white flour. This whole wheat version has a lot of the same great qualities as the white version: it’s a no-knead recipe, which makes it easier than any other bead I’ve ever made (think homemade bread for dummies) and it only takes about 10 minutes of hands on time. But since so many people were interested in a 100% whole wheat version, I did some experimenting and came up with a beautiful 5 ingredient 100% whole wheat artisan bread recipe. Whole wheat flour doesn’t work the same way white flour does, so you can’t simply swap out white for wheat and expect a great result. But one question I’ve gotten asked over and over and over is this: can you make artisan bread using whole wheat flour? My answer, up until now, has been no. It’s so fast and simple and turns out so beautifully that people just love it (myself included). Far and away the most popular post on my blog has been this easy 4 ingredient artisan bread recipe. ![]() ![]() If there is a possibility that the person to whom you are writing is a Dr. If you are unsure of a woman's preference in being addressed, use Ms. Follow a woman's preference in being addressed as Miss, Mrs., or Ms. Include a personal title such as Ms., Mrs., Mr., or Dr. If you do not have the person's name, do some research by calling the company or speaking with employees from the company.
